Set on the beach in Aranya, Qinhuangdao, this concept for a bar, developed with MUDA Architects, imagines a quiet escape from the city, where the lighting is part of the slower pace.
The bar is the brightest point, defined by a backlit skylight above it and recessed downlights. Seating areas and the exterior are kept deliberately low in brightness while still meeting safety needs, with in-ground fixtures used outdoors.
The contrast between the glowing bar and its dim surroundings sets the relaxed, easygoing mood of a lounge bar by the sea.
